Santiago Giménez received a heartfelt message of encouragement from his father after not being called up for Qatar 2022

This Monday Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino announced the list of 21 players with which the Mexican team will participate in the World Cup in Qatar 1200 that starts in six days. One of the controversies was the absence of striker Santiago Giménez. Hours after the call was announced, his father Christian ‘Chaco’ Giménez sent a message of encouragement on social networks.

Through the stories of his Instagram account, the former player wanted to comfort his son who had to face the World Cup disappointment live after having attended the Tri camp in Girona, Spain.

“God does not delay or fail. His plans are bigger than our imagination and our understanding, they are perfect. Everything will happen when it should be, when it has to be, according to its times. I love you my son. I’m proud of you”, wrote ‘Chaco’ on his Instagram account accompanied by a photo of his son wearing the Feyenoord shirt.

The absence of Santi Giménez was one of the most controversial along with that of Diego Lainez. Social networks like Twitter exploded against the Argentine DT for not calling the young figures who are considered to be promises of Aztec soccer.

Memes and hundreds of comments with harsh criticism were the tonic on the blue bird’s social network. It should be remembered that Giménez is currently the top scorer in the Europa League. The striker left Cruz Azul to migrate to the old continent and have more chances of representing Mexico in the ecumenical contest.

Until now, Santiago has not commented on the matter in any of his social networks about the decision of ‘Tata’ Martino. Giménez is 21 years old, so in case If he maintains his progress, he could be a fixture in the call for the World Cup in 1200 which Mexico organizes together with the United States and Canada.
