Man who threatened to stab passengers and crew members caused a flight to be diverted

A person traveling on a plane from Cincinnati, Ohio bound for Tampa, Florida allegedly threatened to stab the passengers and members of the crew on Friday night.

On The plane, which was bound for Florida, was diverted to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after the incident, the Atlanta News First reported.

A Hartsfield-Jackson airport official said the incident occurred at 21: 09 hours. Once the plane landed in Atlanta, the police officers arrested the person responsible.

Authorities said that

the assailant was carrying a “box cutter”.

According to officials, all other passengers on the plane were screened when they got off the plane in Atlanta and the plane was also searched before the passengers reboarded.

The incident delayed the arrival time of the passengers in Tampa until Saturday morning. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and no injuries have been reported.
