El Paso police find a man asleep with a shipment of fentanyl in his vehicle

An El Paso man was caught napping inside a vehicle after police officers approached him after receiving a suspicious activity report.

The subject, who was unaware of the officers’ presence, was carrying a gun and possessed thousands of fentanyl pills, while the car’s engine, parked on a South-Central street, kept idling gear.

The vehicle remained stopped in the opposite direction on Locust Street, near Alameda Avenue, which caught the attention of people, who reported the fact to the authorities.

According to a police press release, the detained subject was identified as Jevshua Muniz, of 35 years and He held the gun in his hand as he lay asleep in the driver’s seat.

El Paso Police Central Command officers woke Muniz up They ordered him out of the car and arrested him after they found plastic bags containing thousands of fentanyl pills, police added.

The detainee was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center, and a bond of $80, for the charge manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, and a bond plus $2,04 for the charge of illegal possession of a weapon.
