Fernando Navarro was part of the Toluca team that fell in the final of the Apertura Tournament 2022 against Pachuca. With this new defeat he leaves one of the worst records in finals.
This is the third consecutive final that the Red Devils player falls in finals. Navarro, 33 years old, lost with the teams of: León in the Apertura 2021, with Pachuca in the Clausura 2022 and with Toluca in the Apertura 2022.
The losing streak in finals began with the Lion in the Apertura 2021 when he wore the León FC shirt to even though he only played in that league 45 minutes, but he was part of the squad that won the runner-up position that they lost to Atlas and that led to a drought for the Mexican soccer player.
In the Clausura 2021, Navarro wore the Pachuca shirt, but once again it would be Atlas who would take the title that earned him the two-time Liga MX championship. In that final, Navarro played 45 minutes in the first leg of the final that Pachuca lost 2-0 and then played 32 minutes in the round that ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of Pachuca, but which gave the title to Atlas.
For this final, Navarro, now with Toluca FC, was able to fight and win a place in the starting eleven and was of the most frequent players both in the regular season and in the league. But now for the third time in a row, the Mexican soccer player lost a final after the overwhelming thrashing of Pachuca 8-2.
Despite bad luck, Navarro has also won titles and even had a good run when from 2011 and 2020, was crowned four times: once with the Tigres (Apertura 2011) and three with the León ( Opening 2013, Closing 2014 and Opening 2020), including the two-time championship.
