Twitter is evaluating the possibility of implementing a new verification system in which $30.99 dollars per month in exchange for being able to keep your verified account plate.

This new directive would imply reformulating Twitter Blue, the platform’s optional subscription system, whose current cost is $4.99 dollars per month in exchange for additional features. Under this new system users who already have a verified account will have 90 days to join the new subscription mechanism, or risk losing your blue badge.

According to unofficial information Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, gave the Twitter engineering team until November 7, so that the new option is active among users. In case of not meeting the delivery date, employees will be fired.

“The entire verification process is being renewed in this moment”, indicated the billionaire last Sunday.

The measure would be one of the new policies that the company would implement after the arrival of Elon Musk. It must be said that in recent days there has also been speculation about the possibility of massive layoffs of employees who are not contributing to the company.

Elon Musk had previously criticized the waiting times when it comes to the development and implementation of updates and new features. Proof of this was his criticism of the fact that Twitter has taken more than a year to make the button to edit tweets a reality.

At the moment it is unknown if Twitter plans that the new system will allow users who do not yet have their accounts verified to be able to access the blue badge, which would imply that anyone can verify your account.

It should also be clarified that the social network still has not issued any kind of official statement about whether they really plan to start charging those users who wish to maintain verification of their accounts.
