In which the Mexico Formula 1 Grand Prix number 22 in history, a Mexican got on the podium and extended his good moment in the highest category. And it is that Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez achieved third place against to its thousands of nationals who attended the circuit of Los Hermanos Rodríguez in the capital Mexico City.
It was a difficult race in the one in which the young driver Max Verstappen took his victory number 14 in a season in which he is already champion. This first place represented keeping the record for the most wins in the same year, beating Michael Schumacher (13 of 18 in 2004). In this context, Checo Pérez was self-critical by not being able to go beyond third place.
“I couldn’t get to Hamilton, but with all the problems we had over the weekend, it was the best I could do”, said the Mexican in the post-race press conference.
But through his account on the social network Twitter, where he regularly communicates with his millions of followers, el Checo sent a thank you message to the thousands who supported him on the Mexican GP circuit as well as the other millions who saw it on the screens.

The pilot of 32 years also promised to look for a victory for the next Mexican GP to be held in 2024: “We will try again”.
Pérez (Red Bull) finished behind Britain’s Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) second. With this result the Mexican climbed to second place in the drivers’ championship, he said that now he will concentrate on the last two races of the year, Sao Paulo and Abu Dhabi.
