Sacramento Sheriff Releases Dramatic Video Of Shooting That Killed Officer & Chase Suspect


After conducting an investigation to determine whether there was excessive use of force, the department released a video of the events

The night of the past 18 January Sacramento Sheriff’s Department officers identified a van that had been implicated in several robberies and accosted the driver while he was in a parking lot , however, the situation got out of control and ended with a chase and a terrible shooting that killed the man, one officer and left two others injured.

A little over a month after the incident, the Police revealed a video of the events in which you can appreciate everything that happened that night and gave more details about the man, revealing an extensive criminal history before the incident in the who killed an officer, wounded another and also a canine agent.

It all started shortly after 10: 00 at night a parking lot near Arden Way and Avondale Avenue when officers are seen talking to the man through the car window , but suddenly he decided to escape by unleashing a high-speed chase in a residential area, which ended after his car was totally damaged when it hit the concrete structure and a fence inside the Cal Explo complex located in 1600 of Exposition Boulevard in Sacramento.

Once the vehicle was vacated, the Police asked the man to leave the vehicle and he did not do so, so they sent a canine agent inside the car to neutralize it , however, man succeeded reaching for a firearm in his possession and fired at the officers , wounding two of them and dying at the scene after other officers responded the shots.

The agent who lost his life was identified as Adam Gibson by 31 years old who was 6 years old in the department. Gibson was taken to the hospital by other colleagues on a patrol , but he was pronounced dead at the health center.

For his part, the other agent who is recovering after receiving bullet holes is an officer with 13 years of experience in the department. For his part, the injured canine agent named Riley, is a 5-year-old dog with three years of service.
