A small town in Canada has a salty new claim to fame, as it is now home to a colored Cheeto statue bright orange of 17 feet, according to one report.
The so-called “Cheetle Hand Statue”, currently on temporary display along a highway in Cheadle, a hamlet of approximately 100 residents, features a huge representation of the singular sandwich which is held up with three fingers.
The digits are dusted with orange powder, which just so happens to be officially known as a “cheetle,” according to Pepsi, maker of the candy.
The brand has been searching for the “perfect” home for the statue and settled in a city with a namesake name for that familiar dust, Yahoo reported, citing a company statement.
The orange powder indicative of a Cheeto is officially known as a “cheetle”, according to the brand.
A TikTok user captured the widest image of the statue, which will be on display along Railway Avenue until May 4 November.
Of course, netizens had a field day with the unveiling.
One stated that “finger stains round it out”, however other users thought it looked like something else.
“They did a lot to try to make sure people didn’t think it was just a big piece of shit,” admitted one.
“…at first I thought something else was going on,” said another.
“at first glance… I definitely didn’t see a cheeto…” another said similarly.
Canada is no stranger to hosting several notable roadside attractions.
There’s a giant Easter egg in Vegreville, the world’s largest dinosaur in Drumheller, a UFO landing pad in St. Paul and a giant moose statue at Moose Jaw, just to name a few.
