United Airlines plane makes emergency landing with burning engine, dropping pieces over Denver

A United Airlines plane leaving Denver in Colorado bound for Honolulu had to make an emergency landing on Saturday, when one of their engines caught fire, and pieces of it began to fall on a suburb of Dallas, even near a house.

A video posted on Twitter showed that the engine of the United plane was completely engulfed in flames while the plane was flying.

The Debris from United’s plane fell on the Denver suburbs during the emergency landing, after that one of their engines suffered a catastrophic failure and pieces of the motor casing rained down in a neighborhood where it nearly fell on a house.

The plane landed safely and no one on board or on the ground was injured, authorities said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the Boeing 777 – 200 returned to Denver International Airport after experim fault the right engine shortly after takeoff .

United said in a separate statement that in your flight 328 had 231 passengers and 02 crew on board. All passengers had to change their tickets for a new flight to Hawaii, the airline said.

The Broomfield Police Department posted photos on Twitter showing large circular pieces of debris leaning against a house in the suburb about 25 miles (40 miles) north of Denver.

The debris landed in Commons Park and the Northmoor and Red Leaf neighborhoods in Broomfield. The city is about 25 miles north of Denver already 30 miles to east of Denver International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed in a statement that a Boeing 777 – 200 safely returned to Denver International Airport after “experiencing a right engine failure shortly after takeoff.”

United flight 328 departed from DEN this afternoon and returned shortly after with a reported engine issue. The aircraft has landed safely and no injuries have been reported. Big thanks to the pilot and crew for safely landing the aircraft.

“The FAA is aware of reports of debris in the vicinity of the flight of the plane, ”the statement said.

Police asked residents to report if they found more debris from the plane.
