Coyotes hid 29 immigrants in a house without a bathroom; HSI rescued everyone alive

The special agents of the National Security Investigation, HSI, announced that 29 immigrants were rescued from a clandestine house located in the center of El Paso, Texas, in appalling conditions.

“Human traffickers see people as merchandise and victimize them for profit”, the special agent told charge of HSI El Paso, Francisco Burrola. “HSI will continue to target the transnational criminal organizations involved in this crime.”

The rescue of immigrants took place in the past 22 of August, among those people there were 12 Mexican citizens, eight Ecuadorians, seven Guatemalans, one Honduran and a Salvadoran.

According to the authorities, the undocumented immigrants spent between one and four days in a house without air conditioning, without a stove in runs, no refrigerator and no bathroom.

Between the 29 people there were 24 men and five women, with an age range of between 18 and 42 years old.

The undocumented received medical attention and provided water to whoever needed it.
After the rescue, the undocumented immigrants were handed over to the United States Border Patrol for its processing.

The federal criminal investigation remains ongoing with assistance from Border Patrol.

Border Patrol did not find the human smuggler at the scene.
