It has been 5 years since Joaquín “he Chapo ” Guzmán, the head of the Sinaloa Cartel , was free for the last time, after January 8, 2016, less than six months after his second escape from a maximum security prison, on drug trafficker was recaptured in the city of Los Mochis, in the state of Sinaloa, by troops of the Marine infantry.
Since then, he has been locked up in jail, both in Mexico and in the United States, where since July of 2019, is located in the Maximum Security Prison (ADX or ADMAX, in English) located in Colorado, where he is serving a life sentence from a place where he izá will never come out after becoming a legend for its escapes.

Joaquín Guzmán Loera , was captured for the first time that June 9, 1993 in Guatemala.
He had gone to that country escaping or from the police persecution that was unleashed against the cartels when Cardinal Juan Jesús Posadas Ocampo died during a shootout between criminal groups at the Guadalajara airport, in the state of Jalisco in Mexico on 28 May 1993.
El Chapo was arrested at the Talisman International Bridge and shortly after he was extradited to Mexico, where spent almost eight years in maximum security prisons until the 22 of January of 2001 , escaped from the Puente Grande prison in Jalisco.

He was confined in the maximum security prison of El Altiplano, in the state of Mexico, but after only 17 months locked away, The Chapo ran away again on the night of 11 July 2015 , by a tunnel dug under the prison.
Finally, on January 8, 2017 was last recaptured for the 19 of January of 2017, one day before Barack Obama will hand over power to Donald Trump , the drug trafficker was extradited to State United.
