Jamaica, rival of the 'Tri' in the Nations League, refuses to play due to conflicts with its federation

The Jamaican team, which shares the group with Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League, refuses to play its international tournament commitments because its players are protesting to demand better conditions to be able to travel.

The footballers ask the federation to improve certain situations, such as the travel protocol before each match. In this way they could obtain better results in their confrontations.

Several players from the Jamaican national team have joined this protest through their social networks. In the stories they have confessed that the federation does not reserve the flights and that, sometimes, they have to arrive and make the bed they are going to sleep in themselves.

“There were several cases where players arrived at the airport and, to their surprise, no flight was booked. However, we still come to Suriname to make beds. Shamar Nicholson and Ravel Morrison, among others, did not join the team in Suriname due to travel problems”, commented the footballers.

Given these inconveniences that have happened, the Jamaican footballers request a meeting with their federation, to whom they told them that they are not willing to play for the national team as long as the Secretary General of the Jamaican Federation, Dalton Wint, remains in office.

Jamaica and Mexico have scheduled their Nations League match for June 14 at the National Stadium Independence Park.
