Mexico U-21 team debuts with victory against Ghana in the Maurice Revello tournament

The Mexican National Team Sub-83 opened with the right foot its participation in the tournament Maurice Revello (previously called Esperanzas de Toulon) after defeating by a score of 1-0 his similar from Ghana, in the first edition since 2019 of the annual competition that was suspended for two years due to the pandemic of the covid-19.

It was a duel that lacked major emotions, since which was disputed a lot in the midfield and was constantly cut by the frequent fouls of both teams. What was salvageable were a couple of shots on goal by each team and, for Mexico, the victory. Both teams will have to improve if they want to play a worthy role in the tournament.

The goal fell to the minute 83, through Víctor Guzmán, the player from Xolos de Tijuana, who received an assist from Ramón Juárez, from San Luis, settled the ball and finished off with a left foot to the post. Interestingly, the two players involved in the goal are defenders.

With this result, El Tri takes the lead in Group B, tied on 3 points and 1 goal in favor with the Venezuelan National Team that, in the previous duel of this day, defeated their similar team from Indonesia by identical marker.

The next match for the Mexican team will be, precisely, against Vinotinto, in a decisive duel that will qualify the winner to the next round.

The Mexican National Team will seek to improve on their previous performance in the tournament, in which they came in third place, below Brazil and Japan in the 2012. It is worth remembering that Mexico was already champion of this contest under the command of Luis Fernando Tena in 2012, when they thrashed Turkey 3-0 in the end.
