The Santiago Bernabéu lived on Sunday the perfect finishing touch to the celebrations after the fourteenth (14) European Cup won by Real Madrid on Saturday with the victory against Liverpool (0-1) on a day that also served as a farewell for the Brazilian Marcelo and in which the Madrid fans exchanged the whistles for the Welshman Gareth Bale for applause on what was also his last day of white.

The left side thus closes a stage of 15 seasons and a half with the white shirt having become the player with the most titles in the entire history of the club, with thanks to the 12ª Supercopa of Spain, 39ª Liga and the ª ‘Champions’ achieved in this 2022.

Therefore, he was the main protagonist of the celebration at the Santiago Bernabéu that culminated the day of festivities after visiting the Almudena Cathedral, the headquarters of the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council and the Cibeles fountain.

Marcelo was in charge , as in the rest of the events on Sunday, to carry the title of the UEFA Champions League (UCL). The Brazilian could not contain his emotion as soon as he jumped onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu and knelt down next to the trophy to thank heaven and the fans, in tears, for his time with the white team.

The fans chanted his name and even asked him to stay at the club, and he dedicated some words.

“It is a wonderful moment in my life. I close a cycle in the best club in the world. Today is not a day of sadness, it is a day of joy because we have once again won the best championship in the world. I am very proud of myself. Thank you very much for the magical nights we have experienced here. The future is very good with young people. Go Madrid!”

The Italian Carlo Ancelotti took the floor before: “Thank you for the love of the whole season. What a season. The comebacks in this stadium, the push from this stadium… we’ve had a great time because we’re madridistas like you”, he commented.

The coach, who later began to sing the anthem of the tenth, as he did in the celebration of said title in 2014, was one of the most acclaimed by the fans and the first to go out onto the pitch, followed by his coaching staff.

One by one the Real Madrid footballers paraded. Isco Alarcón received the affection of the stands in his last days as a footballer for the white team and the surprise came when it was the turn of the Welshman Gareth Bale.

The Cardiff winger leaves Real Madrid after managing to write his name in unforgettable moments for the club’s history. His unstoppable career in the Copa del Rey final in a classic, his goals in the finals with Kyiv’s brace against Liverpool as the greatest exponent and a Chilean that is still considered the best goal in a ‘Champions’ final.

With his fifth win in a competition in which he only played 7 minutes, divided between the first leg of the round of 16 against PSG and the quarter-final against Chelsea, Bale is one of the nine members of the squad who added five Champions Leagues and are one of the legend Paco Gento. He leaves Real Madrid after playing 258 games and scoring 106 goals. After winning 5 ‘Champions’, 4 Club World Cups, 3 Leagues, 3 European and Spanish Super Cups and 1 Copa del Rey.
