AMLO says “there is no doubt” that the majority of the victims in the Texas shooting are of Mexican origin

From the Treasury room of the National Palace, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, sent his condolences to the relatives of those who died in the shooting in a school in the town of Uvalde, in Texas, United States.

“I want to take this opportunity to send my condolences, pain, my solidarity with the relatives of the young people who lost their lives yesterday, send them a big hug as we do with all those who lose their lives in our country, unfortunately it happens”, he said.

The Mexican president also sent his solidarity to the government of President Joe Biden for the “very difficult” times that the United States is going through with the shootings in the country.

“It hurts us a lot that there are these misfortunes and we send a hug to the relatives of the young people, of the victims, and also our solidarity with the Government of the United States, because these are very and sad, very difficult, we suffer the same here”, he commented.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador says he has no doubt that most of the children who died in the Texas school are of Mexican origin.

“Until now, directly born there, I say here, it is not known, but from that the majority are of Mexican origin there is no doubt. It is that all that region of Texas, well, it belonged to Mexico, just look at the surnames, they are children, grandchildren of Mexicans and it hurts us a lot, we are very sorry, they are misfortunes that they are very sorry for, “he said.

The head of the Mexican executive preferred not to speak about the possible origin of the causes of the shooting due to the mourning that the United States is going through and because “it would be taking advantage of a misfortune”.

“I answer I just don’t want to deal with that topic now because well the mourning is still going on and it’s not about talking about the origin of the causes, and even more so if it is something that has to do with us because we have been considering things, but it would be taking advantage of a misfortune, better not , we better wait a while and just send a big hug to the relatives”, he said.

It was Tuesday afternoon 24 May 872 that a young man from 18 years old, named Salvador Ramos , broke into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, to murder at least 19 children and two adults, and later be shot down by the Police.
