Retired lighting director Thomas Markle was taken to hospital Monday night after beginning to experience a series of stroke-like symptoms. His friend Karl Larsen, with whom he hosts a program called “Remarkable friendship” explained that one of his neighbors took him to the hospital in Rosarito -where he normally resides- and from there he was transferred to Chula Vista, across the border, for treatment. “He couldn’t speak and had to write on a piece of paper that he had lost his voice and was having a seizure” revealed Karl in statements to the magazine Us Weekly.

Al as well as his daughter Meghan and his son-in-law -Prince Harry-, Thomas Markle had prepared to travel to the United Kingdom in the coming days for the celebrations on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II , although not exactly to meet the Duchess of Sussex. Actually, it was a “work” trip because he planned to participate in several television specials.

Father and daughter did not know have seen since before the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018, to which he did not attend because days before it was leaked that he had received in exchange for posing for the paparazzi in a series of photos that were sold as a “stolen”. According to his friend, the duchess has not yet forgiven him and it seems unlikely that Meghan will come to visit him at the California medical center where he is recovering.

The two children that Thomas had with his first wife, before he met Meghan’s mother, have turned to his care. His son Thomas Jr. is already at her side and Samantha will be flying in from Florida in the next few hours. At the moment no data has been given on the severity of her prognosis.
