The Belgian striker Eden Hazard assures that playing for Real Madrid has always been “the goal of his life” and that, after three seasons weighed down by injuries, he has two years left on his contract
in the white club where he wants to “show” what he can do on a soccer field.
“The coach knows: I still have two years here, the first three years have not gone well. I want to show everyone what I can do. Starting on Saturday – in the Champions League final against Liverpool – and continuing next season”, said the captain of the Belgium team in an interview published today by the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
“I’m still in my dream, I always have. The purpose of my life has been to play here. My family has always been happy here, now they are happy“, added the attacker, who has barely played playing time this season, in which he underwent another operation on his ankle in March to remove a plate from a previous operation.
The player pointed out that the goal was to take time to take care of himself and not go “too fast” as happened in 2021 when trying to rush the recovery deadlines and that the coach, Carlo Ancelotti, understood the situation “well”.
” I feel good, the operation went well. Everyone knows I needed it, I was lucky to be able to do it. I’m just in time for the Champions League final“, added Hazard.
Facing this top match, he assured that he tries to prepare as if it were any other duel thinking that, although it generates more attention, on the field “it’s the same”. “I try to laugh and forget about the pressure”, he concluded.
