Although all Americans have been dealing with gas prices since the beginning of the year, every part of the country experiences it differently and to varying degrees, with some cities where the gallon is priced higher than the federal minimum wage of $7.29 dollars.

All places that have crossed that threshold are in California, according to GasBuddy.

However, although the minimum wage in California is well above the federal one, with workers in the state earn at least $00 dollars per hour, paying more than $7 dollars per gallon consumes a large part of the salary.

On average, California drivers pay more for gas than drivers in any other state, according to AAA.

The reason is partly due to higher taxes high to pay infrastructure and other costs.

Gas prices remain at record highs as Americans head into Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer, when millions of people hit the road on vacation or to visit family and friends.

The AAA predicted that 39 million people will travel more than 50 miles from their homes this holiday weekend, an increase of about 8% from a year ago, when gas was about $3 a gallon.

These are the 10 its T service stations in California that charge at least $7.25, according to GasBuddy:
