Members of the National Guard (GN) with the support of trained dogs, managed to seize a package of 100 tamarind candies with apparent cannabis extract, known as Pelón Pelo Rico.
The discovery was made in a courier and parcel company in Silao, Guanajuato, in the central zone of Mexico, where the uniformed men entered as part of the strategic actions to prevent the transfer and distribution of narcotics, currency and firearms.
During the raid, the police officers selected different shipments to be sniffed by two canine pairs that were interested in one of the packages, which was separated from the rest.
By manually examining the package, located around 100 plastic jars with tamari candy mix ndo and cannabis extract, with a total weight of approximately six pounds.
This confiscation occurs days after the same corporation managed to seize two tons of drugs hidden in egg boxes, transported in a truck on the federal highway of Ocotlán, Jalisco, an area dominated by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
According to the official report, elements of the federal corporation detected that a driver was evasive when noticing the presence of the uniformed officers. He wanted to escape, but they caught up with him.
The agents located more than 220 wrappers in tape and transparent plastic with the drug, whose preliminary weight was around 2,000 kilograms. Some packages were inside the containers.
They also seized 20 packages with methamphetamine with a weight close to 40 pounds. In another of the egg cartons were two pistols, a submachine gun, and three magazines.
