“How long will it take (to finish the invasion)? The answer to this question can only be given by the actual situation on the battlefield. We are trying to do it as soon as possible. That is sure. We are obliged to expel the occupiers and ensure the real security of Ukraine“, Zelensky said in his usual message of video to Ukrainians playing this Thursday (19.05.2022) local media.

That is why “I signed decrees on the extension of the legal regime of martial law and the term of the general mobilization. I hope that the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine will support this decision in the near future. Our army and all those who defend the State must have all the legal tools to act consistently”, he specified.

Zelenski said that Russia, which began its invasion of Ukraine last 24 February, is still looking for a definitive and “wonderful weapon” that managed to accomplish its goals, something that shows “the total failure of this operation and the fear (of Moscow) to admit mistakes”.

“Everyone has already seen Russia at war. Inexperienced recruits he throws into battle like cannon fodder. Criminals who see conventional appliances for the first time in a foreign country (…) Prohibited phosphorus bombs that they use to burn down schools and common houses”, described the president.

He insisted that this “also shows that they are afraid to admit that catastrophic mistakes have been made at the highest levels of state and military in Russia. Therefore, they will come up with more and more ‘wonderful’ (weapons) as the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all our defenders liberate our land step by step.”

And he promised that “Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Enerhodar, Mariupol and all our cities and communities that are under occupation, under temporary occupation, must know that Ukraine will return.”
