One of the most anticipated bioseries of the year by Univision’s audience is that of Vicente Fernández, “The last king”. The TelevisaUnivision production has been in the midst of controversy as it is a version not authorized by the family. Pablo Montero brings the legendary singer to life and it was on Tuesday 17 of May that premiered in the United States.
The first episode of the series dominated in audience, achieving 1.5 million viewers in total within its time slot 10pm/9c. In the adult segment between and 49 years old, “The Last King” achieved 574 thousand.
The Charro de Huentitán bioseries competes directly with “Pasión de Gavilanes II” on Telemundo, which unfortunately does not give much competition. The Colombian melodrama achieved 745 a total of a thousand, an audience well below “El Último Rey”. In the young adult segment, Telemundo’s production achieved 354 thousand.
Univision kicks off primetime night with “La Rosa de Guadalupe ” at 7pm/6c. At that time the unit marked 1.2 million in total and 527 thousand in the demo. “Single with Daughters” followed with 1.3 million in total and 524 thousand in the specialized segment. “Mi Fortuna Es Amarte” equaled the total rating of “El Último Rey” with 1.5 million and beat the bioseries in the demo scoring 624 thousand.
Meanwhile, Telemundo kicks off its night with two hours of “La Casa de los Famosos” which averages 1 million in total and 403 thousand in the demo. “Hasta Que La Plata Nos Separe” achieves 793 a thousand in total and 100 thousand in the demo.
