Hispanic accused of tampering with evidence in deadly shooting of Tía Pancha flea; two people died

HOUSTON – A Hispanic man faces charges of having tampered with evidence after the shooting that occurred this Sunday at the facilities of the Tía Pancha flea market in North Houston.

In the incident two people died and three others were injured.

According to Sheriff Ed González, thousands of people were at the flea market located on the block 8700 of Airline Street around the 1 pm when two groups of people began to argue. The altercation changed when they pulled out guns and started shooting.

Although the scene was active with investigators collecting evidence, the flea did not close. Aunt Pancha is one of the biggest fleas in the city.

Officers said that the altercation was carried out by about five men who knew each other. Three of the suspects are in the hospital in critical condition. Until this Monday no charges have been filed.

One of the men who participated in the incident is wanted by the Police for having manipulated evidence. Ángel Flores-López was not injured in the shooting, but he approached the scene and allegedly tampered with evidence and fled the scene.
