What is the current best airline in the United States? The latest ranking from JD Power, the consumer research, data and analytics firm, appears to have the answer.
In his most recent report, in which he interviewed more than 7,000 travellers, degrees of satisfaction with the airlines were measured according to eight factors: plane; Baggage; shipment; Registration; cost and fees; crew; on board services; and reserve.
Subsequently, in the study, applied between March 2021 and March 2022, the answers were grouped into three segments: first class / business; Premium economy class and economy class. The interviewed travelers had to have flown in one of the main airlines of the country in the last month to answer the survey.
In the category of basic economy flights , Southwest Airlines was the highest rated by passengers, followed by JetBlue Airways and Delta Air Lines, which ranked second and third respectively.
In the segments Premium economy flights, and first class / business, JetBlue led both preferences. Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines fought for the following positions in both categories.
Mike Taylor, managing director of travel, hospitality and retail at JD Power, said that customer satisfaction has changed due to certain measures implemented since the pandemic , such as the suspension of the alcohol service in the Premium class.
Similarly, the increase in 20% in the average airfares, due to the increase in fuel prices, had a lot of weight in the degree of customer satisfaction and ratings.
In the study, other issues such as airline interruptions, cancellations were not taken into account.
