Yon de Luisa, president of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF ), assured that Gerardo “Tata” Martino , national coach, is in excellent conditions to continue leading El Tri, after the surgeries he has undergone in recent months.
In an interview for Diario Récord, de Luisa stated that she sees Tata in great physical condition, comparing him to the moment in which he was hired by the FMF to direct Mexico, in 2019.
“ It is the Tata that we got in the 2019, the one that we decided to hire, that is the Tata that today we have and I have nothing but words of gratitude and support for your work for what has come in the past and especially for what will come in the coming months”, express.
De Luisa said that he sees Martino with extraordinary energy, words that should be a relief for the fans of Mexico, who saw how their coach was absent from the last friendly match due to his health commitments.

At the end of March on “Tata” Martino underwent surgery for the third time on his right eye, due to retinal detachment. Upon medical discharge, the Argentine strategist will be able to travel by plane and resume 100% his duties with El Tri.
The 28 of May will be his next commitment, against the Nigerian team, in Texas.
