Vladímir Putin was unable to fully celebrate the Victory Day military parade organized by his own government, because in addition to the wave of international criticism, was sabotaged by a series of cyberattacks.
Just when the Russian boss wanted to show his people the power of the army, Different cyber activists stormed the smart televisions of the Russian population, spreading messages of solidarity towards Ukraine.
Among the messages, it can be read: “Your hands are stained with the blood of thousands of Ukrainians and hundreds of murdered childrens”, in other phrases, says that: “Your televisions and your government are lying to you. No more war!”
Channels like Russia-1, Channel 1 and NTV-Plus were the victims of hackers, who changed the descriptions of some of the main TV channels Russians.
Although the attacks only targeted the transmission of the celebration, it was a blow to Russian propaganda, more so when the Victory Day is one of the most important national holidays in Russia and celebrates Stalin’s victory against the Axis forces in 1945.
The cyberattacks were not formally claimed by any group of hackers. So far it is unknown who the perpetrators of the attack were.
Shortly after the attack, one of the Twitter accounts attributable to Anonymous published a post with lapidary content: “Good morning Moscow”.
This attack would be the second in just 24 hours to the Russian regime, before, Ukrainian hackers announced that they paralyzed the vodka industry in Russia, prior to the celebration of the military anniversary .
According to the media, hackers attacked the Internet system, administered by the Kremlin, which controls the supply of vodka to factories and stores throughout Russia, causing serious delays in the distribution of the popular drink.
