Andres Lillini’s Pumas added yet another failure after they were eliminated by Chivas in the playoffs by a lofty score of 4-1 becoming a very tough week after losing the Concachampions final against the Seattle Sounders.

The strategist who is expiring his contract confessed that for him this has been the hardest week of his life in the sports field and also revealed that his continuity with the university team will depend on the balance that the president of the team can make Leopoldo Silva.

Everything collapsed for Pumas…

Chivas ran over them, there are no excuses.

Let’s think about the next tournament…

Which players are leaving, who are coming?

Lillini and the board to put together a decent squad…

Unfortunately, the investment will be scarce…

“I don’t know what’s going to happen next. It is a question that Mejía Barón or Leopoldo Silva could answer, I don’t know. I have had the worst sporting week of my life, difficult to assimilate two such strong defeats without complying the objectives that we had planned for ourselves, surely inside we still have a long way to go, we did everything possible to do it, some in a better or worse way, but the team didn’t stop pushing forward”, affirmed Lillini.

Despite the two failures that could call Lillini’s continuity into question, he is a strategist for the university team, he stressed the work done, especially with the youngsters, who have been given opportunities and playing minutes.

“The resources we have are these, we have taken advantage of all the footballers, all of them have participated, especially many young people. Surely for the process to come they will have this road traveled and it will mainly do the club good”.

Pumas will go down in history as the first club to lose a final of Concachampions against an MLS team, but its context cannot be ignored. Lillini led a very limited squad, with patches and discards, to the end of the zone. They exceeded expectations, and by far.— Undefeated (@InvictosSomos) May 5, 2022
