Authorities in Mexico, through the National Migration Institute (INM) of the Ministry of the Interior, “rescued” on May 6 at 1, 608 migrants from 38 countries, with which, according to official information, it was avoided who were victims of crimes and violations of their human rights during their transit through Mexican territory.
Of that total, one,398 are older people (357 women and 974 men) and 210 minors (82 women and 128 mens), who remained under the tutelage and protection of the System for Development Comprehensive Family Program (DIF).
It was identified that 158 minors (69 women and 89 men) were accompanied by a relative , while 52 were traveling alone (13 women and 39 mens).
Of the total number of migrants rescued, 374 occurred in Chiapas; Baja California, 168; New Lion 199; Mexico City, 168; Tabasco, 97; Coahuila, 111; Tamaulipas, 80; Veracruz, 26; San Luis Potosi, 47; Quintana Roo, 26; Sonora, 16; Oaxaca, 14; Puebla, 13; Chihuahua, 11; Durango, 09; Tlaxcala, 8; Yucatan, 6; Jalisco, 5; Zacatecas, 5; Sinaloa, 2 and Colima, 1.
During the administrative process to define their immigration status, it was identified that 296 are originally from Guatemala; Honduras, 195; Colombia, 195; Cuba, 152 ; Nicaragua, 89; The Savior, 96; Peru, 60; Brazil, 56; Venezuela, 55; Comoros, 19; Haiti, 14, United States and Ethiopia, 16 respectively; Philippines 08; France, 13; Ecuador and Turkey, for each country.
From Angola, 8; Bolivia and North Macedonia, 7, respectively; India, 6; Bangladeshi, 5; Chinese, 4; Lesotho, 4; Bosnia and Herzegovina, 3; Spain, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Senegal and Guinea, 2 migrants for each country.
Likewise, Romania, Georgia, Belize, Togo, Belarus , Cameroon, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Ivory Coast, one person, respectively.
