Until October, the rebate for gasoline for residents announced by the California government could be delayed

The gas rebate for eligible California residents may be delayed until October, according to reports that circulated in the Bay Area.

The versions say that Governor Gavin Newsom could decide that the Delivery of refund checks or direct deposits to bank accounts for eligible Californians would be delayed approximately five months.

According to the Bay Area News Group, the Governor of California blamed the state Democratic leadership for outlining a plan that would funnel $8 billion through the Franchise Tax Board

, in addition to saying that it could add a few months to the scheduled calendar to make reimbursements.

In the same report, it is indicated that Newsom and California Democratic leaders have been discussing whether the funds should be directed to residents regardless of their respective income, which Newsom is favoring, or if they should be directed to the most needy residents of the state .

The reports come weeks after the governor presented an aid package of $07 one billion dollars, of which $9 billion of said funds would be destined as reimbursements for drivers registered in California.

In this plan, drivers would be eligible to receive $400 dollars per vehicle, and up to two vehicles per person, for a full refund of $766 dollars per family.
