Teen dies inside inflatable at water park after truck drags him out of water and dumps him in parking lot

A teenager died in a tragic accident inside an inflatable chamber at a Florida water park on Saturday night and was identified by his family.

According to reports, Christian Garner, aged , died instantly after a pickup truck pulled his camera out of the water and deposit in a parking lot.

Pensacola police responded to a report of a traffic-related injury at the Florida Maritime Park around 7 pm

According to authorities, a truck was pulling an inner tube from a pond into a retention pond.

Sergeant Britney Sturgeon said that the driver pulled the inflatable out of the pond with Garner inside and deposited him in the parking lot, according to WEARTV.

Garner was still on the slide when he landed in the parking lot.

“This is a very heartbreaking and unusual case,” he added. “Very tragic. Just a direct tragedy, it’s very tragic in every way.”

Sturgeon said there is an ongoing investigation, but he expects more details in the coming days.

Garner’s mother, Cecilia, gave statements to Channel 3 about the death of her son.

“Christian was my baby. He was a mama’s boy growing up. He loved working on cars and just started a new four-wheel project,” he said.

“He loved to fish. He really loved his family, and we all love him very much. He was the best brother of all. My other two children just lost their best friend.”

Garner’s brother, Joshua, wrote a statement on Facebook about Garner’s death. his brother.

“As for people who don’t know, my little brother, Christian, died in a tragic car accident,” he said.

“Please keep my family in your prayers as this is a very difficult time for us right now. Rest in peace, Chris, you were so loved by mom, sister and me. “

Friends and family also shared tributes to Garner after the news of his death.

Sgt. Britney Sturgeon said the driver pulled the tube out of the pond and into the parking lot, according to WEARTV.

“ It’s not something you expect to wake up and hear on the news. Christian worked for us for about a year,” one person wrote.

“He was a super nice guy and a hard worker. He was graduating from high school this year and headed to the Air Force. Rest in peace boy.”

A GoFundMe page was set up to help the family cover funeral expenses.

The driver was in police custody until Sunday for questioning, but it is unknown if there will be charges related to the incident.
