WhatsApp remains at the top of the most downloaded messaging applications in the world. However, some of its features are unknown to billions of users.
One of them has to do with the star that appears accompanying some messages received from our contacts . The explanation to this mystery is relatively simple and it is that it is featured messages.
This function is intended for users to mark important messages they have received or sent so that they can be accessed more easily and quickly.
This means that If you enter a chat and see a message, either yours or one of your contacts, accompanied by a star, you must have marked it at some point in the past.
How to access starred messages?
Although WhatsApp users can see the highlighted messages by entering the conversations stored in the application, this is not the faster or more suitable way to do it.
From the application website they explain that in order to be able to view these messages more easily, only It is necessary for the person to enter WhatsApp and then press the button with the shape of 3 vertical points located in the upper right part of the screen.
Once this is done, a menu of options will be displayed in which the user will have to select the option marked as “Featured messages”. This will open aa new window within the application in which the person will be able to see a list with all the messages marked with a star.
This list includes both messages received and those sent by the user.
As part of this functionality, WhatsApp users have the option to click on the messages to be redirected to the specific moment in the conversation where they were sent. Thanks to this it is much easier to recover specific conversations despite the fact that they have been buried under the new messages or files shared in the chat.
