Saúl Álvarez has a fortune that reaches 140 millions of dollars, however, not everything has been achieved thanks to boxing. “I won 800 Mexican pesos ($40 dollars) for that fight. I had to pay half of that in tickets because my family is very big and they wanted to see me fight ”, narrated the boxer during an interview granted to DAZ.

The fight, which meant the boxing debut of ‘Canelo’, took place in 2005 and the Mexican clearly remembers that they did not pay him the corresponding money to which he he had agreed, however, he did not depend on boxing as his sole source of income.
“They only paid me half the corresponding money for my first fight. I love boxing and have never done it for money. At that time I had other jobs, I was alone, I had no children, I did not have to support anything and I worked . I didn’t need the money, I just wanted to fight,” Álvarez explained.
