The assassins of the Gulf Cartel (CDG) attacked a patrol in one highway that joins the town of Reynosa with that of San Fernando, in Tamaulipas, on the border between Mexico and the United States. Drug traffickers killed a policewoman, leaving another wounded by a bullet in the leg. According to Mexican media, that the attack is related to the trafficking of Central American migrants, since when escaping the assassins abandoned a truck in which they were carrying a kidnapped man, who confessed that he was engaged in human trafficking and that he paid him fees. to the cartels so that they would let him operate in their place.

The General Secretariat of the Government of Tamaulipas reported on its Twitter account that an armed commando attacked state police officers on a section of the road that goes from Reynosa to San Fernando: “After the aggression by armed individuals against women elements of State Public Security, we reiterate what we have stated clearly and firmly, but whoever does not understand it that way, we are going for them, and this time it will not be the exception! !”.
The San Fernando massacre
The 22 August 2010 was recorded a massacre in San Fernando. The multi-homicide was committed by the Los Zetas cartel, currently operating under the name of the Northeast Cartel (CDN). The victims were 58 migrants of various origins, the majority from Central America, who were in transit through Mexico en route to the United States, where they intended to cross illegally.
Between the 72 executed, there were 58 men and 14 women, whom drug traffickers got off a bus, lined up and then shot in the back, their bodies were piled up and abandoned; although some were buried in the area.
