A solitary goal by the Portuguese Rafael Leao against Fiorentina (1-0) brings Milan closer to achieving the ‘Scudetto’
Three days to go in this exciting campaign. Leao returned to act as a star, appearing when the vertigo of the leadership seemed to return to Milan (north). Pioli’s men maintain their advantage and their position of privilege. First and depending on themselves. Ahead: Verona, Atalanta and Sassuolo, three bones to lift the champion trophy eleven years later.
Milan prevailed over the rival, a priori, more complicated than it had in this complicated end of the season. Despite the struggle of the Milanese with the goal, the victory fell on their side thanks to the more than fundamental and decisive Leao, who took advantage of the goalkeeper ‘Viola’s error in leaving the ball to sign the only goal of the game. A goal that could be worth a ‘Scudetto’.
Milan was better from the start, although Fiorentina, with their presence in Europe at stake for next season, did not make it easy at all . Those from Florence wanted to redeem themselves from the 0-4 conceded against Udinese last day and continue in the fight to enter European positions
We had to wait until the last bars of the clash, with 8 minutes to go, for the reward. The ‘Rossonera’ player of the season appeared. The ‘Fiorentino’ wall broke down and Leao did not forgive. The Portuguese intercepted Terraciano’s pass and didn’t think twice: he faced it and shot.
And, as much as his dribbling is always very similar, Leao’s insulting superiority to unbalance makes it an unstoppable move. The hole was created, shot and unleashed the madness in San Siro.
With this important victory, the ‘ Scudetto’ is very close. Pioli’s men now leave more pressure on Inter, who are five points ahead in the absence of playing their match for this day. The ‘Fiore’, meanwhile, remains seventh, out of European positions, although it can drop to eighth position if Atalanta beats Salernitana.
