A couple from Apopka, Florida reported that they recently had an unusual encounter with a black bear. The doorbell camera of his house captured the uncontrolled race of both towards the house to escape from the claws of the animal.
“No warning. There is no time to react. He immediately started running towards us,” said Jason Smith.
Jason and his wife Rachel Smith were inside the front yard with their dog around 9: 30 evening. Before leaving they checked to see if there were any bears nearby and they didn’t see any nearby.
“It is not strange. We’ve all witnessed bears over the years we’ve lived there,” said Jason.
However, things didn’t go as they imagined when the black bear suddenly burst out from the side of a neighbor’s vehicle and headed straight for them.
“I threw my arms up in the air and screamed at the top of my lungs. I’m trying to get big and scary, but he won’t stop,” said Jason Smith.
Upon entering the house, the bear disappeared for a moment, but then returned to the front porch taking another look at the home of the frightened victims.
“We think he was a younger man alone,” Rachel Smith said. “I was picking up my neighbor’s trash, we found out later.”
After the incident, the Smiths said they would stay in the next few days. in the backyard to avoid another close encounter with another wild animal of the same species.
“We are going to have more lighting in our backyard. That’s why we don’t normally let the dog out in the backyard at night,” said Jason.

A similar incident was also reported in the same town last month, when David Bass and his wife were leaving their residence, when a bear came around the corner near their driveway and chased them into the house.
Lately, several wild bears have been reported in central Florida. In some cases, people who have encountered the animals have been injured.
