A family that was on vacation in Tel Aviv caused a tremendous scandal, when the authorities of the Ben Guirón International Airport discovered inside their luggage was an unarmed bomb that they carried as a souvenir.
The The story that American vacationers told airport authorities is that during a walk along the borders of Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, one of the children found an explosive and decided to keep it as a souvenir .

At the end of their vacations, already back in their hometown, they checked-in and it was there that they found the artifact that caused a uproar among the passengers of the Airport, since they imagined that it was an active bomb that could explode at any moment.
On the loudspeakers they issued a warning to evacuate the area due to the imminent danger, some people fell to the ground and others entered panic. The video of a passenger who posted on his social networks shows the chaos caused by the family’s “souvenir”.

The Guardian newspaper published that one person had to be transferred to the hospital, after suffering severe injuries, when tried to flee down the luggage conveyor belt and get stuck.
After the chaos and fear, Ben Guirón Airport officials announced through loudspeakers that they had controlled the situation and that they could continue with their respective flights without any problem.
Meanwhile, the family was questioned by officials until they verified that the child had really taken the explosive out of curiosity and because he wanted to take home a souvenir of his vacation. After resolving and clearing up the problem they were allowed to board their flight without their “memory” .
