Joel Embiid, center for the 76ers of Philadelphia, suffered a severe blow to his eye that caused an orbital fracture as well as a minor concussion during the first round playoff game against the Toronto Raptors.
Embiid left the game clearly injured and retired to the dressing rooms to check his injury. After the tests they reported that he will be on indefinite leave due to the concussion and the strong blow to his right eye.

The evolution of the blow is still awaited, in which the doctors will determine if he can play with some protection or will be left out of one of the closest series of this second round.
In the first round of the playoffs against the Raptors, Embiid added 11.2 points (52 % success in shooting) and 11,3 rebounds on average per game.
Embiid is one of the three finalists for the MVP together Serbian Nikola Jokic (winner last year) and Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo (winner in 2019 and 2020).
Throughout this course, Embiid achieved 30, 6 points (with a 52, 9% shooting accuracy), 11,7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.1 ro bos and an average of 1.5 blocks per game.
Embiid was the top scorer this season in the NBA, something that a center had not achieved since Shaquille O’ Neal (Los Angeles Lakers) in the season 1999-2000.
