Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, who this Saturday will step into the ring at Madison Square Garden
in a historic bout, they made weight on Friday and the table was set for what some have considered the greatest fight of all time in boxing feminine.
Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano, from 33 years of age, registered 134.6 pounds, while the Irish Katie Taylor, of 35 years old and is the defending champion of all lightweight titles at stake, she also made weight with 134.6 pounds at the ceremony held at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden. The fight between the two legendary fighters will be in the most famous arena in the world, which had never had two women as stars of a boxing function.
After reaching the scale, Serrano and Taylor, who have a guaranteed purse of one million dollars each, raised the excitement of the Puerto Rican and Irish fans present when posing in a face to face that was sensational.
Amanda Serrano (42-1-1), born in Carolina, Puerto Rico but who grew up in New York, has been world champion in seven different divisions, a Guinness record . She is currently the undisputed featherweight champion. Taylor (20-0), from Bray, Ireland, is one of the most decorated amateur boxers in history and has been a lightweight champion since 2017.
The fight, which can be seen on the streaming service DAZN, has captured the imagination of locals and strangers, including actress Charlize Theron, who revealed inspiration thanks to Serrano and Taylor.

. You ladies inspire me and women everywhere to the core – can’t wait to see the fight!” Theron wrote on Twitter.
When Serrano was asked after the weigh-in what she needs to do to beat Taylor, the Puerto Rican said, “Just be the classic Amanda Serrano.”
