The young promise of soccer, Marcelo Flores , continues his growth in European football while establishing himself in the Mexican team led by Gerardo ‘ Tata’ Martino.
Despite Canada’s interest (Flores has dual nationality ), the English Arsenal midfielder would have opted for his father’s land and would like to keep playing games with El Tri , despite his recent controversial statements about whether or not he is going to the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
But what has generated a lot of interest in recent days was his conversation with TUDN about which of the Mexican soccer teams is his favorite.
The promising soccer player of just 18 years did not hesitate to answer which club he opts for: Atlante , which is currently in the Liga Expansión (second division). But he also stressed that he sees very little Aztec sports.
“Atlante because my father played there. I don’t know much about Liga MX because I don’t watch that much”
During the conversation, he also made it very clear that the love for soccer that led him to dedicate himself to that sport, runs in the family:
“My father is Mexican, everyone on my father’s side is very passionate about soccer. They gave me that love since I was a child and I think that what made me play for Mexico is because of them because it is a dream and a pride to play for them and represent Mexico”
Marcelo’s father, Rubén Flores, played during the decade of the 80′ with the Atlantean. He had a fleeting passage through the first division in which he played 11 matches and scored a goal.
Then he left for Canada, where he did the rest of his semi-professional career and where his son Marcelo was born on October 1, 2003 in the city of Ontario.
