Platino Awards 2022: the greatest celebration of Ibero-American cinema and culture will take place in its IX Edition

The IX Edition of the Platinum Awards is preparing to celebrate the best audiovisual works in Ibero-America on May 1st, where a stellar cast of guests from from different countries in the region.

The ceremony, which will take place at the IFEMA Palacio Municipal and will be presented by Lali and Miguel Ángel Muñoz, will recognize the best works in the world Produced in Spanish and Portuguese.

Let us remember that, fighting for the statuette in the category of Best Ibero-American Fiction Film, is the Mexican “Night of Fire ” by Tatiana Huezo, as well as the Spanish works “El Buen Patron” by Fernando León de Aranoa, “Parallel Mothers” by Pedro Almodóvar and “Maixabel” by Icíar Bollaín.

Competing for the Best Ibero-American Movie Miniseries or Teleseries are the Mexicans “Luis Miguel: The series” by Daniel Krauze, and “Narcos: Mexico” by Carlo Bernard, Chris Brancato and Doug Miró; the Argentinian “El Reino” by Marcelo Piñeyro and Claudia Piñeiro, as well as the Chilean “Isabel” by Rodrigo Bazaes.

Some of the artists who have confirmed their presence at the gala are: Javier Bardem ––who is nominated for The Good Boss––, the Mexican Mane de la Parra, Chino Darín ––aspiring for the award for The Kingdom––, Almudena Amor, María León and Kira Miró. Andrea Duro, Anne Igartiburu, Camila Rojas, Daniel Guzmán, Darko Peric, Eduardo Casanova, Javier Gurruchaga, Santi Serra and Sergio Momo will also walk the red carpet.

To liven up the night, the Platino Awards will feature musical performances by great artists, such as Mexican Pedro Fernández, Puerto Rican Kany García, Lali, Nia, Rozalén, and there will even be room for a surprise.

In addition, another of the most anticipated moments of the night will be the delivery of the Honor Award to Carmen Maura, a renowned actress for the Ibero-American public.
