Ford’s plans to grow its electric vehicle market Not good news for 580 employees in the United States who were laid off this week.
The manufacturer explained that the cut was applied to 350 salaried employee jobs and 230 that were part of external agencies.
“We continue to align the staff around to the critical skills necessary to offer our products, services and the Ford+ plan ”, the company pointed out in a statement.
The decision was made after the implementation of the Ford+ strategy, with which the company seeks to reorganize its combustion engine businesses and strengthen its area of electric motors.
It was precisely in the engineering areas where the cuts were applied almost entirely, after the turn to a greater commitment to electric motorss, both for cars and trucks.
Ford explained that the decision was made based on the needs that the production of this type of engine requires.

While, between wage earners and hourly workers, the automaker adds 90,873 workers, the 48.7% of the 230,600 employees around you of the world.
Layoffs of the almost 600 employees began to be implemented on Wednesday, immediately after the company issued a statement and announced a net loss of $3,100 million dollars in the first quarter of the year.
Ford assured that the employees who were laid off may be eligible to keep benefits and an indemnity equivalent to 9 months salary.
