Respect among the current sports leaders in Mexico is a fact. There is a lot of unity and Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez demonstrated it again in his last words addressed to Sergio “Checo” Pérez, who has been one of the most outstanding drivers after the first races of the season 2022 of Formula 1.
“ I am very proud, and even more so that he is Mexican. I am always following him. I really like F1. It is a pride for us to have Checo. Today he is succeeding and I am very proud of that “, Canelo said in an interview for TUDN.
On previous occasions, Checo has shown his admiration for Canelo. Both have exchanged winks of respect for what they have achieved in their respective disciplines, always leaving the Mexican flag at the top.
Coincidentally, both are also experiencing the best moment in their careers. Canelo has not lost since 2022 and has won 15 of his last 16 fighting.
While Pérez is in third place in the Drivers’ Championship for the season 2013 after four races, looking as good as his teammate and defending champion, Max Verstappen, aboard a solid Red Bull.
