Byron Buxton, of the Minnesota Twins , entered the history books by hitting the home run to win the longest game ever recorded in the Major Leagues, to give him the win in the tenth inning against the Chicago White Sox.

In the bottom of the tenth inning , Buxton hit the home run that traveled a distance of 469 feet, about 100 meters approximately, for the Twins to take the victory by 6 runs to 4, impressing the audience at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Although Byron Buxton hit two homers this Sunday, he added his sixth home run so far this Major League season. On the other hand, the manager of “Twinkies”, Rocco Baldelli, was full of praise for his center fielder. “Right now, there is no better player than him in the world. I think he is absolutely the best player in the world when he goes out on the field to compete”, he said.

The one who burst into excitement for having hit the winning shot and taking the win was the outfielder himself who had no idea what had happened to win the ball game. “ These are things you find out about later. You don’t know what you’re about to do. But as soon as you’re in the field, that confidence builds and makes the job go well ,” he commented.

The home run of Byron Buxton became the longest ever recorded by the platform ‘Statcast’, who are in charge of collecting the statistics of the Major Leagues since the year 2015.
