The writer Rose Rock, mother of Chris Rock, has spoken about the episode that occurred on the stage of the Oscar Awards 2022 between Will Smith and his son, who made a joke about the baldness of Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of the winner of the “Best Actor” award in that ceremony.
In an interview with Billie Jean Shaw of WIS, Rose expressed that “You reacted like that when your wife looked at you askance, and you went and made her day because she was laughing out loud when it happened”, referring to Smith and to Pinkett’s reaction, according to a video that circulated on the internet.
The writer, who is also in charge of giving motivational talks and defending the rights of the family and youth tud, assured that she thought it was a joke until she began to “yell profanity”. She commented that “when she slapped Chris, she slapped all of us. Really, she slapped me.”
He added that his son was very excited to deliver the statuette for “Best Documentary”, which in the end was won by Questlove for “Summer of Soul”. “No one heard his speech. She just couldn’t be in the moment because everyone was sitting there like, ‘what just happened?’” , she expressed.
These statements by Rose Rock are added to those of Kenny Rock, brother of Chris Rock invited the actor to fight at an event next 11 June 2022, at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Also, Will Smith has been seen for the first time in public from the Oscar Awards, in Mumbai, India, where he is currently on a spiritual break after being banned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences events in one of each.
