One person died in an accident involving a small plane that crashed at noon this Wednesday near the highway 210, in the Sylmar area.
The air mishap occurred at approximately 12: 30 pm near Sayer Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
So far, the authorities have confirmed the death of one person , but investigations were ongoing to rule out that there were other occupants in the aircraft.
Upon arrival at the scene of the incident , LAFD firefighters contained a small fuel leak and prevented a fire from occurring.
The causes of the plane crash are unknown , which happened in the vicinity of Whiteman Airport , in Pacoima.
Apparently, the plane hit a group of trees, which are on an embankment, before the plane hit the ground just off the highway.
The authorities closed two lanes of the road to allow the work of the emergency teams who went to the scene of the accident, which caused an intense vehicular load and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
