The BMW X7 M60i now has a more aggressive design

The BMW X7 is the flagship car of the brand when it comes to SUVs, it is the equivalent of the 7 Series. Today it debuts restyling. The imposing SUV gains dual-height headlights, a BMW iX-inspired interior design, and American-made electrified powertrains. This model will go on sale in the summer of 2022.

The BMW SUV range was completed with an XXL model in the 2018, the X7. The upper part of these light groups have position lights, daytime running lights and turn signals. In the lower part it houses dipped and main beam lights with Matrix LED technology. The lower block is coated with a darker finish, to better integrate with the bodywork.

Another novelty is the backlit radiator grille with vertical slats, which is slightly smaller than the previous version. The front bumper is new, with side air intakes in a vertical format.

On the back, the firm debuts a three-dimensional design. The chrome strip between the lights is closed in a transparent element. This gives the SUV a wider appearance.

Inside, BMW has modernized everything by integrating the curved digital double screen block of the new BMW iX. A screen of is combined in a single unit .3 inches for the instrument panel and another 14.9-inch for touch control infotainment features and runs the 8th generation iDrive operating system.

Engine and Transmission

The changes in this update of the BMW X7 are not only aesthetic, there are also new features in mechanics. The X7 now equips only electrified engines with a mild hybrid system, starting with the latest 6-cylinder in-line gasoline and 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel.

All engines, whether gasoline or diesel, of the X7 are equipped with a micro-hybrid system of 48 CV composed of an 8 kW starter-generator (11 CV) and 200 Nm mounted on the crankshaft and integrated in the front of the gearbox eight-speed automatic.

The new X7 has two gasoline engines and one diesel engine in the initial range. The diesel will be the X7 x Drive14d. It is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder 340 hp.
