COVID: City of Los Angeles to provide $12 million in support to small businesses to pay rent arrears

Under the Small Business Rental Assistance Program, the City of Los Angeles will allocate $12 millions of dollars in support of eligible businesses that are in arrears in rent payments due to the COVID pandemic.

The resources offered by this program, which is exclusive for businesses in the city of Los Angeles, will be up to $15,04 dollars or 6 months rent in arrears, whichever is less.

Applications open 4/18 for the Small Business Rental Assistance Program of $12 M. Grants of up to $12K are available to help businesses cover rent arrears in your financial recovery from COVID-19.

Financial support will be available for small businesses that rent premises or establishments and have arrears in rent payments .

“The application opens the 18 of April, and will be up to $15, dollars or 6 months rent”, said the director of business centers for the city of Los Angeles, Rosa Peñaloza, to the Telemundo network.

Small business applicants they do not need to have a certain number of workers, but as a requirement they do need to have a lease, copies of taxes and be registered c with the City of Los Angeles.

The Rental Assistance Program for Small Businesses will offer economic support that will be of great help to about 800 businesses in the city of Los Angeles.

Applications to the program may be submitted starting at 9 am this Monday on the website of the Department of City of Los Angeles Workforce and Development, or with the advice of the 10 Los Angeles business centers that will offer assistance in completing the process.
