Video captures moment a woman is assaulted with a knife at an ATM in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect who was caught on video robbing a woman with a knife at an ATM.

The incident occurred on February 1 of the current year shortly after 5 pm

According to the Police, a driver was withdrawing funds from an ATM located in the block 2800 of Gessner Street when she was surprised by a man who appeared at the side of the vehicle armed with a knife. The suspect pointed the knife at the woman and demanded her wallet.

The woman did as the suspect asked and the man ran from the scene.

The Police have not offered specific details about the description of the suspect, only that he was wearing a white sweater with a hat at the time he committed the crime.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5 reward,000 dollars that helps bring about the arrest of the suspect.
