The Secretariat of the Navy in Mexico seized in recent days, in two different interventions, approximately 2,553 pounds of alleged cocaine; in two smaller boats; and approximately 100 liters of fuel; events that led to the arrest of seven people.

The first action was carried out on the 2nd of April, approximately 246 nautical miles west of the coast of Manzanillo, in the Mexican Pacific after detecting a boat with plastic drums and six persons on board, who did not appear to be carrying out fishing activities, carried out an insertion and inspection, subsequently proceeding to arrest the crew members and secure the smaller boat with three outboard motors, a plastic can with fuel, with a capacity of one thousand liters, approximately 10 percent of capacity.

The second action took place on the past 5 April, approximately 100 nautical miles south of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, by the personnel assigned to the Eighth Naval Zone, when an aircraft of this Institution sighted a vessel that caused suspicion, for which an Interceptor patrol was alerted, beginning a follow-up that culminated in the said vessel being stranded on the beach.

In this event The arrest of an alleged lawbreaker was achieved in possession of 1, 222 packages of alleged illicit substance, approximately 54 nautical miles (100 kilometers ) South of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

In these two actions, seven alleged transgressors of the law were arrested, two boats were seized, one with 1,222 packet is, containing white powder with the characteristics of cocaine and another with 55 empty plastic drums of 50 liters capacity each, and a 1, liter container with fuel at 10% (ten percent) of its capacity approximately.

It should be noted that this operation was carried out under the trinomial operational concept (ship-helicopter-interceptor) , using state-of-the-art technologies.

According to authorities, the states of Jalisco and Colima are territories with extensive presence of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, commanded by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho”, one of the most wanted men in Mexico and the United States.
