One of the worst in history: Michel Leaño and his terrible numbers that make him one of the most deficient Chivas coaches in more than 70 years

Juan Chourio

The defeat at the Akron Stadium against Rayados de Monterrey was the straw that broke the camel’s back and triggered the dismissal of Michel Leaño as coach of Chivas de Guadalajara, leaving unfortunate records that make him one of the worst technicians of the sacred herd in more than 70 years of history.

And it is that his numbers at the command of Chivas are quite unfortunate, since in 23 games he led, he only won 6 games, drew 9 times and lost 8 times, thus having a percentage of 39.91 of effectiveness, earning the unfortunate title of the worst DT of the sacred herd in the last years.

The numbers DO NOT lie: the effectiveness of Marcelo Michel Leaño (39%) places him as the WORST coach of Chivas in the last 70 years.

Finally his name will be saved in the history of the club… https://t.co/LKP48KkcV2

And it is that in all the history of Chivas, Leaño’s percentage of effectiveness is the third worst record of a DT with at least 14 directed matches.

And it is that Leaño’s unfortunate numbers are only surpassed by Ignacio Ávila who obtained a 30.33 percentage of effectiveness after his period as helmsman in the campaign 1945- 46 and Nemesio Tamayo with a percentage of 37.5 who led the rojib white for two seasons, in 1943-44 Y 1944-45.

Leaño is gone!

Marcelo Michel Leaño leaves Chivas being the third WORST coach in history.

And that in those numbers he is told the victory he achieved as an interim in 1945!

In this sense, in the history of Chivas, 25 technicians have directed the ‘Sacred Flock’ during, at least, 14 parties and Leaño managed to position himself as the third worst coach in its history. A stain that will be difficult to clean in the rest of his career as a coach.
