Engine and Transmission

The Palisade’s power comes from a twin-regulator 3.8-liter V6 Atkinson cycle direct injection engine continuous valve (dual CVVT), for excellent strength and efficiency. This 3.8 liter engine produces an estimated 291 horsepower @ 6,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and an estimate of 262 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 revolutions per minute.

The Palisade puts that power to the wheels through a refined eight-speed automatic transmission with a multi-plate torque converter, and makes available two configurations: two-wheel drive or HTRAC® four-wheel drive, with a final drive ratio of 3.648 for reliable acceleration.

The modes that the driver can select with the HTRAC system are “Normal”, “Sport” and “Smart” (Normal, Sports and Smart), which provide reliable control in all weather conditions.
